Using a serious game developed by Gloudemans, students explore the complexities of area development. How do you reconcile the various interests involved in an area development project, and how do you maintain a firm grasp on land-related issues? It is no easy task when demands regarding urban development, nature, water, recreation, and agriculture converge and compete for the same land.

Through the game, they experience how—in the often challenging reality of the field—the ability to identify, structure, and carefully weigh competing interests forms the foundation for sound decision-making.
