Quality Assurance in the built environment; ‘Quality… you know what it is, yet you don’t know what it is’ (R.M.Pirsig, 1974)

The goal of the research is to develop a tool, focused on centers of medium-sized cities, which stimulates the communication about quality and which takes the first step to guarantee the quality during the real estate process, from the point of the local authority and users. This research forms the basis to work with the term ‘quality’ in the built environment. A tangible result of this research is a ‘quality’ tool. This tool is a communication instrument that instigates the discussion and communication about ‘quality’ and implements it in a process on an explicit way.
